🔵How to Mint NFT

Minting is the process of creating an NFT on-chain inside one of your collections. On Rare NFT, you mint directly from the Create & Mint NFT page, where you upload artwork, fill metadata, choose token standard, set royalties, and optionally add traits.

Important: You must have a collection deployed first. If you don’t have one yet, create it from the Create Collection page before minting.

Before You Start

1) Connect your wallet

Make sure your wallet is connected and ready to sign a transaction.

2) Select the correct chain (BNB / Relix)

NFTs are minted on the network your wallet is currently connected to. So before you mint:

  • Switch your wallet to the chain you want (BNB Chain or Relix Smart Chain).

  • Confirm the chain label shown at the top of the page.

✅ If you mint on the wrong network, your NFT will be created there—and you will need to mint again on the correct chain.

3) Make sure you have gas

Minting is an on-chain transaction, so your wallet must have enough gas token for fees.

Step-by-Step: Create & Mint an NFT

Step 1 — Choose your Collection (Required)

In the Details panel, locate the Collection dropdown.

  • Select the collection where you want to mint your NFT.

  • If your collection doesn’t appear, click Refresh collections.

Why this matters:

  • Your collection is the contract that “hosts” your NFT.

  • You cannot mint without selecting a valid collection.

Step 2 — Upload Artwork (Required)

In the Artwork section:

  • Click the upload area and choose your NFT image file.

  • Use PNG or JPG (recommended).

  • Follow the size limit shown in the UI.

Best practices:

  • Use a square ratio for clean marketplace display.

  • Use high quality, but keep file size optimized.

Step 3 — Select NFT Standard (ERC-721 or ERC-1155)

Rare NFT supports different NFT standards. You’ll see the Standard option:

ERC-721 (1 of 1 / unique)

Use ERC-721 if each NFT should be unique (most typical NFT collections).

✅ Best for:

  • 1/1 artwork

  • Unique collectibles

  • PFP-style NFTs

ERC-1155 (multiple supply)

Use ERC-1155 if you want multiple copies of the same NFT.

✅ Best for:

  • Game items

  • Tickets / passes

  • Editions (e.g., 100 copies)

If you select ERC-1155, make sure to set:

  • Supply (Required) — number of copies to mint

Step 4 — Fill the NFT Details (Required fields)

NFT Name (Required)

Write a clear, recognizable name.

Examples:

  • Rare Genesis #1

  • RDC Weapon: Blade of Dawn

  • Relix Legends #12

Tip:

  • Use a consistent naming pattern if you plan to mint multiple items.

Describe what makes this NFT special. Good descriptions help collectors understand context and increase trust.

Keep it:

  • Clear

  • Short to medium length

  • Focused on the asset and utility (if any)

Example:

“A Genesis NFT from Rare NFT, built for multichain trading on BSC and Relix Smart Chain.”

External URL (Optional)

You can add a website link related to the NFT (project page, docs, or official link).

Use it if:

  • You want collectors to verify authenticity

  • You have a dedicated page for this NFT or collection

Royalties (BPS)

Royalties define the fee paid to the creator on secondary sales.

BPS conversion:

  • 250 = 2.5%

  • 500 = 5%

  • 1000 = 10%

Recommended range:

  • 2.5% to 7.5% for most NFT collections

Tip:

  • Keep royalties reasonable. High royalties can reduce trading volume.

Traits help categorize your NFT and make it easier to filter/search.

In the Traits section:

  • Add a trait type (example: Edition)

  • Add a trait value (example: Genesis)

  • Click Add trait

  • Repeat as needed

Good trait examples:

  • Edition: Genesis

  • Rarity: Legendary

  • Element: Fire

  • Class: Warrior

Best practices:

  • Keep trait naming consistent across your collection

  • Avoid random spelling variations (e.g., “Legendary” vs “Legend”)

Step 7 — Listing (Marketplace Status)

In your screenshot, the Listing section indicates listing is not automatic (or “coming soon” for auto-listing).

What this means:

  • Minting creates the NFT in your wallet/collection.

  • Selling typically happens in the marketplace flow after minting.

So after minting: ✅ Go to the marketplace/profile section and list your NFT manually (based on your current product flow).

Step 8 — Create & Mint (On-chain transaction)

When everything is ready:

  1. Review your inputs

  2. Click Create & Mint

  3. Confirm the transaction in your wallet

  4. Keep the tab open until the transaction is confirmed (as your UI hints)

After confirmation:

  • Your NFT is minted on-chain

  • It should appear in your profile / collection view (depending on your indexing refresh)

Common Issues & Fixes

“Please select a collection”

  • You haven’t selected a collection contract yet

  • Click Refresh collections and select one

“Mint failed” / Transaction reverted

Common causes:

  • Not enough gas

  • Wrong chain

  • RPC instability

  • Invalid input (missing required fields)

NFT not showing immediately

This is normal if your indexer needs time to fetch new mints. Try:

  • Refresh the page

  • Wait a moment

  • Reopen profile/collection view
